About Me

Trust Me, Being Your Industry’s Best-Kept Secret Is Not a Compliment …
Of course, you want to be a “beast” at what you do. But it’s just as important, and probably even more so, to be known for being a beast.
That’s why keeping your talents to yourself or being your industry’s best-kept secret ain’t gonna cut it if you want to achieve the level of success you’ve always dreamed of.
Let me lay it out for you:
If you want to share your talents with the world, the world has to know you exist.
And that’s where I come in.

My name is TeeJ Mercer and I booked myself (*repeat booked myself*) on media outlets in the Top 10 U.S. markets such as ABC, CBS, CW, FOX and NBC to talk about my book, So You Want To Be On A Reality Show?: Insider Tips to Make the Cut.
Now, I’m certainly not the “braggadocious” type, but I feel it’s only right I tell you why you should listen to me. So I’ll give you a quick rundown – TeeJ style:

- As one of Hollywood’s most highly sought after TV editors, for two decades I influenced the lives of millions through storytelling. I spent time with ABC, NBC, MTV, OWN, WeTV, The Style Network, HGTV, The History Channel, Bravo and the Walt Disney Company – beginning with the entertainment magazine hit Extra, and including the long-running The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
- Despite no prior aspirations to be a writer, in 2012 I felt divinely inspired to write my first book. And I did it in a week! 40 Days Till 40RTY: Life Lessons from the Ramblings of my UNFILTERED Thoughts has received several honors including three Beverly Hills Book Awards, and was downloaded almost 10,000 times in two days, on six continents.
- My Media Mavericks and I have been featured on The Steve Harvey Show, Dr. Oz, The Doctors, HuffPost Live, The Fox News Channel, ESPN Radio, Real Talk with Mary J. Blige, Huffington Post, SheKnows.com, and much much more.
- I’ve been nicknamed “The Walking Exclamation Point” and “A Living Emoji” for my excited energy.
- I’m widely known as the “World’s Greatest Hugger.”
- I’m a graduate of famed Howard University in Washington, D.C.
Ooh wee, I hope that didn’t come off as a “poppin’-my-collar” party.

HERE’S WHY ALL OF THIS IS IMPORTANT TO YOU…
Yes, I’ve had a very successful career, but when I went out to get media coverage for myself – I didn’t use any of my industry contacts.
I made calls (and endured rejection) as any normal, everyday person would do.
So if you think getting a spot on a major TV station is impossible … think again. I did it and have the experience to show you exactly how to go from little-known expert to nationally recognized “beast.”
You see, I accumulated a ton of insider secrets about creating great television segments during my 20-year career as a TV editor. My work has been featured in everything from celebrity news stories and DVD bonus features, to documentaries and reality TV shows.
In fact, you’ve seen my magic sprinkled all over hit shows like:
- Extra
- Access Hollywood
- The Bachelor (ABC)
- Redneck Divas (TLC)
- Joan & Melissa Knows Best (WeTV)
- Clean House (Style)
- Black Gold (Tru TV)
- A&E’s Top Ten (A&E)
- Swamp People (History Channel)
- My Cat From Hell (Animal Planet)
- A. Hair (WeTV)
- It’s Me or the Dog (Animal Planet)
- Bar Rescue (SpikeTV)
- And many more…
And now, I’ve packaged up all my yummy experience and use it to touch the lives of entrepreneurs, industry experts, consultants and authors. Whether I’m penning a best seller, giving out big hugs, speaking at sold-out conferences, facilitating one of my Media Mavericks virtual programs or teaching private clients the importance of serving their audiences, I do whatever I’m divinely told to do.
